Free tools for transcripts and captions
Small jobs around the transcript, done in your browser. Paste text or pick a file, get a result you can download. No account, no upload, no watermark.
How these fit with the transcript tool
Most people need one small fix before or after speech-to-text. Captions come back in the wrong format, timestamps are a half-second late, or a raw transcript is full of line breaks and "um". These three pages handle those jobs without asking you to sign up for anything. If you still need the text itself, the transcript tool on the home page turns an audio or video file into TXT, SRT or VTT.
Questions
Is there a file size limit?
There is no server-side limit, because no file is uploaded. Very large files are limited only by your browser's memory. For audio trimming, files longer than a few minutes may take a moment to decode.
Which audio and caption formats work?
The caption tools read SRT, WebVTT and plain text. The audio tool reads whatever your browser can decode — typically MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG and FLAC — and exports WAV.
Can I paste an Instagram link here?
No. Instagram blocks third-party access to its media, so no tool can reliably fetch a Reel from a link. Save the file to your device first, then use these tools. See why link-paste tools fail.
Are these tools free for commercial use?
Yes. They are free, require no account, and add no watermark to your output. The output is yours.
