Clean text
Before you clean a verbatim record
Filler-word removal is useful for notes, blog drafts and show notes, but it changes what was said. If the transcript is evidence, an interview quote, or anything where exact wording matters, leave Remove filler words off and keep the original file. This tool works on a copy in your browser — it never changes your file on disk.
Timestamps and line breaks are usually safe to remove for readability, but if you plan to put the text back into a video editor as captions, use the Subtitle Converter instead — it keeps the timing structure intact.
What counts as a sentence?
Lines or segments ending in a period, question mark or exclamation mark. Automatic captions often have no punctuation at all, in which case the sentence count will be low even though the text is complete.
Why is the speaking time different from my video length?
It is estimated from word count at 150 words per minute. Pauses, music, silence and overlapping speech are not counted. For an actual duration, check the audio file itself with the Audio Trimmer.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. There is no watermark, no attribution requirement and no account. The output is yours.
